Committee Scope
Measurement and sampling of petroleum and related products, excluding materials covered by ISO/TC 28/SC 5 and ISO/TC 193. This includes bulk cargo transfer, custody transfer, inspection, tank calibration, accountability and reconciliation. Standards also concern determination of properties, in the field or in the laboratory, necessary for such measurements, for instance density, water content and temperature. The subcommittee cooperates with the American Petroleum Institute (API), the UK Energy Institute (EI), the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and other similarly positioned Standards Development Organizations in achieving global standards on petroleum measurement.
